Re: We want YOUR 'Bittersweet' comments!
I must admit that I lost my faith in Sophie some time ago. Having been delaying quite everything in her career, she has now completely surprised me in the most positive way.The video came out of nothing, just popped up on Popjustice and really made me hold my breath and feel quite what's-going-on-in-here. I mean in the positive way, of course.
Despite my not believing in Sophie that strong as I used to, I've been following news on her all the time. When some of the songs leaked into the Internet, I wasn't very pleased with them. Pop Wow, to name one, sounded to me as some, to be frank, crappy pop which should be recorded by some rather local artist with no experience than by a respected singer who is capable of such hit recordings as Murder on the Dancefloor or Get Over You. Back to the point, waiting for some new recordings from Sophie, I wasn't as excited as most of the fans were. It was just waiting, nothing more. And then came the video, the very video of Bittersweet which changed my view on the song, which made me love it. The pleasant blues, violets, all these pastel colours... the already mentioned 'trampoline action', ethereal slow motion, everywhere wind, everywhere good dancing and these great confetti and paint! All in this phenomenal slow motion! They make the clip a really aesthetic experience on a completely different and higher level. And I mean it. With this song and this video, Sophie made me excited about what she'll come up next with, what the album will look like. The video encouraged me to start following Sophie's career one more time with serious interest.

The song and the video are very catchy. Nevertheless it can work with a lot of promotion, radio at the first place, then TV appearances. Sophie has to remind the world she's still on the music scene !

I love the song. It's more powerful than Heartbreak Make Me A Dancer and it won't get out of your head once you've heard it. The video fits the song perfectly.

Re: We want YOUR 'Bittersweet' comments!
I feel that the bittersweet video is infact one of the best if not that then the best music video Sophie Ellis-Bextor has had, the song itself is absolutely marvelous very dancy, catchy and a huge step forward for Sophie in the genre of music that she has stuck to leaving me with high hopes for both the single and the album release.
The slow motion of the hula hooping with paint spraying out is absolutely ingenious with the vocals piecing together the song absolutely wonderful.
I have noticed at certain points of the song that it infact reminds me a bit of Madonna's song Hung Up not that, that is a bad thing as I would be interested in hearing a mash-up mix of the 2 at some point.
Sophie has truly surpassed herself and anyone who dislikes the song really doesn't know what they're missing. I really look forward to the music channels and radio stations being flooded with this song in the lead up to the singles release.

"Bittersweet" song and video got me completely hooked on Sophie after following her career secretly over the years. The song is pure pop brilliance with a somehow dramatic climax to the chorus and lasts in your head forever and ever! Sophie's voice is melting into the music perfectly and the video is a real eye pleasure. What I like the most is that it works without overdone costumes / looks which other artists exaggerate and with a minimum of special effects. Looove it!

Well Sophie is unique and I can only say that both the video as the new single "Bittersweet" are beautiful and impressive, really I can not wait to hear the song on my local radio station and I'm dying to see the video MTV or VH1, and dying to hear the ENTIRE new album! I already know how is the cover!
I do not like comparisons with Kylie ,Gaga or with any other singer. : (
I don't like Gaga
I don't like Kylie
I LOVE SOPHIE!!!

My initial reactions (besides the fact that I love it) - I really like the super slow motion sequences. The confetti coming at her - the paint coming at her.
And especially the results of the "trampolining" (which I have to say I was a bit worried about. I was thinking - is she going to be bouncing all over the place and doing a "Sporty Spice" thing?). I love the fact that you don't see any trampoline at all. Sophie is merely suspended in the air - in super slow motion. Giving the imagery of an Angel.
Fantastic stuff.

Re: We want YOUR 'Bittersweet' comments!
love the song sounds 80"s and that works for me. love freemasons remix (maybe to much). as for a video - i will repeat myself: and the video has been released! a have to admit - i like it. so my short review of
it: first thing i notice that sophie looks so thin in this
video.... and young, maybe its me getting this impression, but she looks
like she's 20 on this video - cool. then i notice that the dancer from "heart break"
video move to this one as well. i like them more on this video i got to
say. i think that's because they don't have those massive glasses that
looks weird.... and they are dressed more sophisticate in my opinion... though the moves of the dancers are fast
and strict as it was on "heart break" video. oh and i love that
splash thing that was repeating during the all video. all those
flag-dresses and splashes reminds me a bit of take me home video. but i
think this video would be great to see at least on hq or if we could get
it on full HD it should look amazing. hey i think it would like
to anouk, cause it's almost all - purple! thought these are my short and censored thoughts about
that video.
my verdict - love it (won't be my
favorite, cause i like few old school robin bextor contributed videos ) but this is one of the best her videos i would say.. feel the free everybody! - feel the free!...
"...Well I thought I was over you but I guess maybe I’m not Oh it would be easy to blame all these songs about rain,..."

The song Bittersweet is great, no, Wonderful, no, BRILLIANT, and the video for it is MARVELOUS. All of Sophie's songs and video's are brilliant, there's no one else like her. The video was so good, and I also liked Sophie's outfits in the video, especially that big purple dress. And the trampolining and getting covered in paint was good and the hula hoop with the steamy stuff coming out of it and the flower petals getting tossed around was all great. Just everything about the video was brilliant. Kudos to Sophie and everybody else who made bittersweet.
