    Sophie in New York

    It finally happened!

Sophie played her first ever live show in America - and fittingly (at least I think so Wink she did so in the city that never sleeps - my hometown of New York.

Appearing as a special guest of the Heritage of Pride, Dance on the Pier, which was the culmination of Gay Pride Week - and with The Freemasons as featured DJ's - on Sunday June 27, 2010, Sophie took the stage and dazzled the crowd like no other before her!

Here are some of my photos of the event:

I'll have lots more images to post - and video too - I recorded her entire performance!  But wanted to some of these up right away.

    What an amazing time!

She said it arrived in the mail just the day before.  How's that for good timing.

Well, you know the songs.  The sound is ok - but get's a little muffled in places (due to the heavy bass notes, me being up front, and my little recorder not being able to handle those low frequencies).

Did Sophie perform Not Giving Up and Revolution? Interested to see if they are as dancy and bassy as one another. Looks Like you had lovely weather for it

    It was a gorgeous day.

Sorry people - she didn't play any new songs.

Since this was sort of her "introduction" to the New York audience (although a lot of people did know her songs) she chose to do this overview history of her biggest songs - so she did Groovejet, Murder on the Dancefloor and Heartbreak.

Here - come have a look and listen for yourself:

    Thank you.

And look at you, Krys! Not only did you manage to finally figure out how to upload your picture here (congrats) - but you've done something creative and colourful to your hair!

would be nice if Sophie did Brighton Pride too :)

I would be nice. Is that near Watford? Would you be able to attend?

    Thanks.

seems like you had a time of your life.

Those buildings are very cool. They have rooftop gardens. Very posh apartments. It is the truly sophisticated New York style of living. I have been a guest in some of these places (before returning back home to my more modest residency. But I've come a long way since then too.)

Here are a few more pics of Sophie at the event:
