This has always been one of my fave topics as well.  Smile

And I know you are a big time fan of "classic" TV, Ironside.  Cool

I know I've mentioned this one before on the old forum, but have to give props to the show Gossip Girl - if for no other reason than it's a great place for bands to have thier music heard

I am friendly with the manager of the band The Raveonettes - and he has gotten their music on that show for two consecutive weeks.  Not only during the show - but it got the featured plug at the end of the show too.  I was really happy to see that.

And it's an entertaining (if somewhat lightweight) show.  Wink

It's Gavin & Stacey and Doctor Who for me this Christmas!  Hurrah!

Did you boys catch these?  I just love the performances by Ruth Jones and Catherine Tate in the respective shows.  Such dry, sarcastic ladies!  Love 'em...  Kinda like Sophie, I guess?!

Rusty i watched Doctor Who on Christmas day, i thought it was really good. As you say Catherine Tate is always good. I will miss David Tennat when his leaves this Friday.  I thought John Simm as the Master was really cool.

Miss Tate rules! Loved the scene with her yelling at a parking attendant! How'd you think Friday's episode will pan out?

    They are good shows.  Smile

Just to follow up my previous post - The Raveonettes were featured even more prominently on the season finale of Gossip Girl.

That was the second consecutive week their music was featured.

Their song "Suicide" (from their latest album In And Out Of Control) was featured in the opening scene of the show - then again in the crucial ending sequence.  The band's manager had told me he was working on getting their music played on the show.  Wow, did he ever! Yes

As for the show - I've got a bit of a crush on all the girls (including Serena's mom Lily  Stick out tongue)

    Cool

I think David Tennant is going to get to good send off this Friday.  I think the battle between the Doctor and the Master is going to be cool. I Will sad then David Tennant regenerates into Matt Smith. David has be a great Doctor and he will be missed.

The comedy show on BBC2 called "Miranda" is amazing - really good new show in 2009, ended now - but can watch it on BBC iPlayer. The BBC have also confirmed there will be a series 2 in 2010 too - yay!

I second this recommendation! I love Miranda, it's so funny, and all of the characters are great. I can't wait for the second series!

Starting again on the 10th Jan is "Being Human" for it's second series... I love it! It's a drama about a ghost, Annie (Lenora Crichlow), a werewolf: George (Russell Tovey) and a Vampire called Mitchell who live together... it genuinely is brilliant! The trailers for this series look so good Smile

    Re: Recommended Television

Lots of good things were made long time ago. Nowadays most of the things they make is boring..the same or I just don't feel like watching it.

    Like Gossip Girl.

I have The Hills and The City already hahahaha.

And why elitist? I don't want to follow more than 3 tv shows. Takes ages to see all the episodes in a week. Stick out tongue
